Displaying the beauty of womanhood has become a favorite theme in my work. The exagerated form of this voluptous beauty may give her unrealistic propotions, but not in the way we have become so accustom to see in magazines and social media. While my intention was to make her so, I also wanted to ensure she held in her form all of the little so-called "imperfections" we see in ourselves when we look in the mirror. Each scar, each dimple, each crease should be celebrated not wished away. Our bodies are beautiful, in all of their shapes, sizes, forms, and colors.
(the sunflowers are not included in this sculpture. However, she can be used as a fully functional, water-proof vase.)
