Original painting is oil on canvas.
This idea was floating around in my mind long before I was able to get it down on canvas. I wanted to do a piece depicting the beauty and detail of the Mayan outfits that indigenous women wear here in Guatemala. The outfit represented here is a fictional one borrowed from a variety of the different regions of Guatemala. I chose to paint it this way, and to only include a portion of the body so that it represents all Mayan indigenous women, young and old, of all dialects, mothers and sisters and daughters, all beautiful, all proud of their culture and heritage.
This canvas print comes stretched with museum wrapped edges and ready to hang on your wall.
